If you've ever tried to get a real GEX analysis tool or gamma exposure scanner, you know the usual options: expensive terminals, clunky web dashboards, or a spreadsheet you maintain yourself. Prisma Group took a different route — we built gamma exposure analysis into Nora, our AI trading terminal, so any Pro or Elite member can request it conversationally, right inside Discord.
What GEX Is and Why Dealer Positioning Matters
Gamma exposure measures how market makers — the dealers on the other side of the options market — are positioned, and therefore how they'll be forced to hedge as price moves. That hedging flow is one of the largest structural forces in modern index and large-cap trading:
- Positive gamma environment — dealers are long gamma and hedge against the move, dampening volatility. Price tends to pin and mean-revert.
- Negative gamma environment — dealers are short gamma and hedge with the move, amplifying volatility. Trends extend and breaks accelerate.
- Zero-gamma level — the pivot between the two regimes. Crossing it changes the character of the tape.
- Call wall / put wall — the strikes with the largest concentrated gamma, which frequently act as magnets or ceilings/floors into expiry.
Traders who know where these levels sit are trading with the map. Traders who don't are wondering why price keeps stalling at "random" numbers.
How Nora Answers GEX Queries
Nora lives in our Discord server. Ask her for gamma exposure on any covered symbol and she returns the institutional-grade data in plain English — no terminal to learn, no export to wrangle. You ask the question the way you'd ask an analyst, and she answers like one. She's available around the clock, remembers the conversation, and can combine GEX context with her other tools — price alerts synced to TradingView, the cash-secured put scanner, and covered-call scanning — in the same thread.
Example: A SPY Gamma Readout
A typical Nora GEX response on SPY looks like this:
- Call wall: $540 — largest upside gamma concentration; expect supply and pinning behavior near this strike.
- Zero gamma: $532 — the regime pivot. Above it, dealer hedging dampens moves; below it, hedging amplifies them.
- Put wall: $525 — largest downside gamma concentration; a common support shelf into expiry.
- Read: spot above zero gamma — dealers long gamma, moves dampened.
That single readout reframes the whole session: where breakouts are likely to stall, where dips are likely to be bought, and how violent a breakdown could get if the zero-gamma level gives way. It's the same positioning data our analysts consult when building the signals you see on the public track record.
Which Plans Include Nora
GEX analysis and the rest of Nora's toolkit are included with Prisma Pro and Prisma Elite memberships — see the full feature comparison on the pricing section. A Nora Turbo add-on is also available for members who want priority access. Nora is a research tool, not a signal service: she surfaces the data, and you make the call. Nothing she returns is financial advice.
